Arts and Crafts Gold and Blue Transom

Just off the workbench and on the way to a new home.
A really nice combination of colors and textures, this transom has everything going for it.
It will make a splendid addition to any home.
I have listed the pattern on Etsy so if you would like me to custom make one for you just let me know.

Log Cabin Stained Glass Panel

This is a nice variation on the classic Log Cabin design.  A custom glue chip center bevel surrounded by clear bevels. Then into a bit of glue chip, a bit of  EnglishMuffle blue, and of course, more glue chip.

Waterglass Transom

All in Waterglass, except for the bevel of course. Amber and clear with a center bevel to set it off.  It measures about 6" X 18" and is framed in strong zinc.  Just the thing for a wedding, graduation, or birthday present.  Yes, it is on my Etsy site for sale.

Just a bit of eye candy.
Placed in a restored frame from the local Dayton area.
It has already gone to its new home.   Enjoy.

10 x 15 Bevel Panel

On the way out of the door, this very nice 10"x 15" bevel panel will be a great piece hanging in the new owner's window. Color will spread all over the walls when the sun comes through this panel. I just love what the bevels do in the light.

On the way to North Carolina.
Just finished today.

It is nice to be back in the glass shop after all this time.  Rehab took a bit over a year.

Kitten Bevel Panel

Everybody like cute cats and kittens.  Right?  (well, almost everyone)
Doing some rearranging in the studio, I ran across this cat bevel and just had to make up a small panel. Nothing special but it has sold already.   YEA !

Just so you know:
If you are local, Xenia, Ohio area glass classes are starting up again.  The next one is on Saturday, March 25th from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. All supplies are included in the $125.00 investment.
You will leave with a finished panel to hang in your window.

Blue Bevel Panel

Let's see, 3 bevels down the center. A surround of crinkle glass, a very deeply textured glass for a really nice sparkle. Add an inch of English Muffle Blue all around for just a pop of color.  OK, I will add another smaller bevel to each corner. To top this off, a very special coloring on the lead lines and the frame....a rich copper tone on the lead lines and a deep black on the frame.
That should do it.   Now, take it to the store.

Double Flower Bevel Panel

It has been slow in the studio for the last month. Just internal projects and inventory building for the busy summer season.
Small bevel hearts and little 4" square accent pieces for the First Friday shows. Small things, easily carried and inexpensive to own.

Now that all that is caught up I have started on some larger panels for the Mall and for Etsy.  This is one of them, A double flower bevel with a vibrant blue line and gold dichroic accents.
At 12" x 24" it makes a nice statement in the window.
It is available on my Etsy site. See the side bar.

Barn Wood & Bevels

It is spring and that means it is time to pump up the inventory.
I need some new entries on Etsy, some new stock in the mall booth,
and a bunch of lower priced pieces for First Fridays which begin in May.
So, my "free time" will be all but gone at least for a while.
How to begin???
First:   Take a nice bevel cluster,
add some barn wood surround glass,
stir in some antique seedy blue,
season with blue and green blobs,
and top with some accent bevels = a really nice window panel.

Oh, please remember the beginning glass class on May 31st.
There is still space for you if you would like to learn this art.
You may sign up in the side bar with the Paypal link.

Next Student Project

I spent a bit of time this last weekend looking for a new project for beginning glass students.
Change is good !
Nothing wrong with the old project it was just time for a change.
A nice oval landscape with the sun setting over some small hills and a stream in the foreground. It has all the necessary things for a beginning class: straight lines, inside curves, outside curves, and some random wavy lines.
All the things a beginning student needs
to learn to cut and foil.

I went ahead and made the project to judge the timing for a class. With a bit of nice glass it cleans up well don't you think?  A piece the students will be proud to show..."I made this in class ! " (big smile)

Just so you know, the next beginning class is Saturday, April 25th from 9am to around 5 pm.
The investment is only $125.00 with everything included except lunch. You do not need to purchase glass or tools to take the class!
This is a real savings for you.
You may sign up in the sidebar with the Paypal link.

First Stained Glass Class

The first class in our new location.
The polar vortex really slowed things down at the studio.
It is hard to give a class if no one can get to you.
But, we finally got it together and the first class was a success.
Congratulations to the students who made a great first project.
Another class next month...watch this space.

Autumn Ginkgo Leaves

A few ginkgo leaves  in their fall colors.
The branches stretched  out across the glass.
Some bright fall accents and some very textured glass as a surround.
It is winter here...still.... but we can remember autumns past.
Remember the up coming beginning class on March 15th. There is only one space left.

Agate Panel

A quick photo of the agate panel as it goes out of the door.
The image was taken several months ago but the panel just sold.
An abstract using 3 agate slices and a hanging crystal.
All surrounded with bevels and red accents.
A really nice window hanging.

Owl Bevel

The Christmas rush is in full swing and has been since before Thanksgiving.
We have been buried in snow and ice around here for a week. Making it more difficult to get items shipped or to make local deliveries.
Ah, the joys of a retail business.

So, not a new item today but a bevel panel that I made years ago.

It has assumed its new place in the family room with dignity and grace.
This morning the sunrise was just beginning and spot lighted it.
I just had to take a photo and share it.

You may have noticed the Etsy listing in the sidebar is active again.

If you see anything you like please feel free to order.

Merry Christmas To All !!

New Furnace

A new gas furnace now resides in the glass shop.
After trying all the latest electric and infra-red heaters
and freezing my glass off, I bit the wallet and had the
gas furnace installed.
Ah, a nice cozy, warm space.
Now I can get back to work on the back up of orders
and start the classes going once again.
Watch this space for class times and information.
This is a detail form a panel I made for the client's
dinning room window which is decorated in
the arts and crafts style.

Bathroom Glass

The same home, different room.
This is used as a privacy window in the shower.
This window faces East so the sunrise should be
just great coming through the beveled center.

My first class in the new studio is on Nov 16th.
It is full already...( if you snooze, you lose).

Watch this space for info on up coming classes
and of course the Paypal sign up in the sidebar.

Progress

Here is the latest up date on the bevel panel.

Almost finished...If you look closely you can see the pink streaky border.
A full photo will be next..
